Mmm...Coffeemate is making a lot of money off of me these days. Even though I usually try to avoid consuming things that are so transparently artificial (a coffee creamer with no dairy???), I can't resist their yummy flavors!
AND, I recently stumbled across the new Peppermint Mocha flavor I had been looking everywhere for! The perfect treat to get me into the holiday spirit while I'm waiting for the snow to arrive. The view out of my office window is pretty bleak these days, especially compared to those bright orange leaves that were filling up my window just a few short weeks ago.
Speaking of the holidays, I'm very excited to say that at least half of my Christmas shopping is already done! Anthony and I went down to New Paltz on Saturday, and spent several hours poking around the shops and collecting some little trinkets to add to family gifts. After some pizza and Starbucks, we drove over to Poughkeepsie next, and picked up some larger items at the mall. I realized halfway through that Christmas shopping can actually be somewhat enjoyable if it's not being done during those last few days before the 25th! (Although, I'll admit that I was pretty exhausted by 9:00pm when we headed home.) AND I realized that that's what I seem to do every year, which means that once I finally get home for the holidays, I spend all my time buying and wrapping gifts. Blah! I am determined not to do that this year, so that I can have a nice relaxing December instead. I'll let you know how my plan works out... Oh, and finally, to top off this productive day, we curled up on the couch and watched Wall-E! Very cute, I already want to watch it again :) I love that he loves 'Hello, Dolly!'!
This weekend Anthony and I also began our deep cleaning of the apartment. Aside from the fact that the apartment has never been entirely clean and organized since we moved in 6 months ago (!), I am also being motivated by the desire to decorate for Christmas, and to get a nice clean work area ready for wrapping gifts. I'm also trying to get a head start on getting things all in order for when Anthony's family comes to visit in December. We're going to need every inch of the space we have with six adults and three babies in the place all weekend, so I want to get as much out of the way now as possible. We definitely made some progress yesterday.
Yay for starting December on an organized note!
I'm a little low on pictures today, so here are a couple of cooking and baking shots from the past week to tide you over:
