{cloudy day over the hudson river valley}
It happens all the time, especially when I really think it won't. I neglect my blog, leaving weeks and then sometimes months between posts. Yipes! Strangely enough, my tendency to blog consistently usually matches up with my most busy times of the year. Now is one of them. By now, you know how I ADORE the fall. Orange leaves, crisply scented air, pumpkin and apple picking, and above all, sweater weather. I seriously love sweater weather. A good cozy pashmina makes things even better.
As this fall season begins, I'm thinking about Beak & Skiff, pulling out the glittered skulls for decorating, settling into a new job and cracking down big time on wedding planning. We're down to the one-year countdown, and it feels a little crazy. I think I'm starting to actually believe that I'll be getting married 12 months from now. Today I absorbed the best of both worlds:
1. Enjoying and welcoming the fall; which included a late afternoon trip to the flea market, where, among a few assorted dusty items I also obtained two small pumpkins; hot apple cider, and a start to the autumn/halloween decoration.
2. Working like crazy on our save-the-dates and wedding website, which I hope to debut soon. I discovered some new graphic elements at puglypixel, via oh, hello friend, and am incorporating them into my ever-evolving understanding of graphic and web design. Don't start thinking I know what I'm doing here, because I definitely don't, but it's been fun learning a bit of html and photoshop purely through experimentation. I like to think I'm forming a good basis for the actual lessons I hope to take one day. In any case, I'll let you know as soon as the website is done...:)
My hope is that my love of fall (and photographing fall) combined with the excitement of working on a web presence for our wedding will kick me back into blogging gear. We'll just have to see, won't we?
