making early morning cinnamon rolls for anthony's student staff
Ah, the Saturday before Christmas. The snow is on its way and I made some time to take a mid-afternoon coffee break today, to catch my breath before attacking the weekend's to-do list. It's quiet and bitterly cold, and so of course it's a perfect day for staying inside and cleaning, doing laundry and wrapping gifts. I did brave the cold for an hour or so to run errands, but tomorrow I am fully looking forward to the snow: I'll be trapped indoors, and I can't wait. There's something cozy and and exciting about a big snowstorm. I've saved all of my final preparations so that I can confine myself to the kitchen and living room with a big pot of coffee, watching the snow (and birds) from the safety of my warm apartment, baking, wrapping gifts, and hopefully enjoying a nice warm fire all day long, or at least as long as our wood supply holds out. The winter I love is finally on its way. Why did it take so long to arrive?
